Hoodies in the Park

Claire McDermott

These friendly and cute figures are ideal sculptures for children and are inspired by Rhododendron flowers. They were created to form a group of respectable, honest, individuals. They could be used at story time to educate young children about attitude and respect.

Rather than have them installed inside the play ground I thought it may be a good idea to set them aside to create a quiet time to encourage thinking. This way the artwork remains sculpture and not a toy.

I am looking for public parks to install the work in and am developing proposals for London Borough Councils.  Please contact me if you have any ideas for where I could situate the work or if you would like to work with me to present a proposal including your own work.
