Emerge was a visual arts initiative for emerging artists based in the London Boroughs of Barnet, Brent, Enfield, Westminster and The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, supporting artists' networks and professional development.
Emerge was based around a series of local events designed to kick start new projects and reinvigorate old ones. Practical workshops to get ideas going, invited experts offering critical feedback, and other artists offering ongoing ideas and support through the project website.
The events and project website didn't seek to compete with all the great existing resources for artists in London, but just to offer another way in, particular to artists who may be new to practice, or returning after a break.
Emerge closed in Autumn 2011. We recommended contacting our partners - Artquest, for information, advice and events for artists in London - www.artquest.org.uk.
